But God………
Everything looked good on the outside but on that night, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that I had ruined my life and I tried to ruin others in the process. I had hurt so many people emotionally and even tried to cross over some imaginary line to a place where I was hurting them physically. But God……… I was hoping and praying for a second chance. I kept moving towards the bank and peeking back and forth when suddenly I noted a gentleman walk out of the resturant behind me. He was perhaps 50 feet from me and when he looked at me, something made me do a double-take. He had that “look of knowing.” He quickened his pace and I closed the gap quickly, reaching out and grabbing his shoulder. He got what he wanted. He was going home.

Its been a long day. My daughter sat there telling me the story of her doctor visits and was actually beaming. She was so proud telling how she got a little freaked out when the nurse produced the needle and pulled the cap off it. She looked at the needle and tried to relax but the nurse was coming at her too fast and she yelled “ NO, NO, NO, NO!” The nurse stopped in her tracks. “What’s wrong?” she asked. “You’re going too fast! I’m afraid.” Pain was about to change her forever.
Watching a show today on past crimes I came across one on the murder of Polly Klaas. In October of 1993 she was murdered at the tender age of 12. The story shocked the Nation as we learned the details of this crime. All of us with children saw ourselves in the horror story. Our hearts were ripped out as we heard the gut-wrenching accounts of her parents as they related what had happened and the nightmare that was playing out on the TV screens of a nation. During an interivew, Polly’s father, Marc Klaas said that when they found Polly’s body, he lost all hope. His whole reason for living, for striving, for fighting was gone. He said he had no hope. But I doubt sincerely and respectfully, that its what he meant.
