Life Detours

February 5th, 2009

Think of all the detours we have taken in our lives.  Now think of where you are.  Its been said that all Gods detours in our lives are shortcuts to where we actually need to be.

This past week our pastor gave a real life example of how he had run out of gas many years ago despite repeated prayers to keep the truck running long enough to get to a gas station.  The truck stalled miles from the gas station with no one around, no phone and no can.  He started walking and after a short while a car happened along.  Turns out that the man driving the car really needed and wanted to hear about Jesus Christ.  It was a huge blessing running out of gas that day, a detour, for God to get him exactly where he needed to be.

Maybe next time your life takes and unexpected turn or twist, which may or may not be your doing, yield it over in prayer to the Lord and ask Him to be blessed by whatever comes.  He may just be waiting for you, to wait on Him, to put you, exactly where you need to be.
